This section investigates some of the fundamental topics in computer systems. In this section of the Program of Study, pupils should be taught to:

        "understand the hardware components that make up computer systems, and how they communicate with one another and with other systems."

Pupils should also be taught to:

        "understand how instructions are stored and executed within a computer system."
